Medieval Times
Kissimmee, Florida

Though you may remember it from Jim Carrey’s hilariously psychotic visit in the movie The Cable Guy, the iconic Medieval Times Dinner Show began in Spain in 1973 and is celebrating 25 years in North America.

Medieval Times' 11th century-style dinner is inspired by an actual medieval tradition in which royal families invited guests for a feast and festival where knights competed on horseback.

After entering the iconic castle and surrounding medieval village, guests are seated in sections named for regions of Medieval Spain to enjoy a four-course feast and cheer for the knight representing their region.

The knights joust, race and battle with authentic replicas of swords, shields and axes. Sparks actually fly as the swords and shields collide. Special effects include a romantic scene complete with falling snow!

Dinner includes garlic bread, tomato bisque soup, roasted chicken, spare rib, herb-basted potatoes, pastry, coffee and two rounds of select beverages. And remember - in keeping with the authentic atmosphere - no eating utensils!

The Kissimmee Castle is unmistakable with its towering, white walls, moat and drawbridge. In addition to the medieval jousting tournament and royal feast, the Kissimmee Castle also features an authentic eight-cottage medieval village for visitors to enjoy.

We sat next to a professional, young couple from Denmark who told us they thought Medieval Times was an enjoyable and unique way to spend their evening.
