The Golden Apple Dinner Theater
Sarasota, Florida, USA

The Golden Apple Dinner Theater in Sarasota, Florida, USA is one of the best Broadway-style dinner shows we have seen anywhere in Florida.

The Golden Apple Dinner Theatre opened its doors on December 11, 1971 and has produced more than 300 plays and musicals including five original plays. One of their original plays went to Broadway! They are THAT good! It's no wonder that they are often referred to as "Broadway on the Suncoast!"

During our visit, we were thoroughly entertained by their show - THE ANDREWS BROTHERS. This madcap comedy featured some of the greatest music of the 1940s as three male soldiers find themselves filling in for a certain singing trio of female siblings who failed to arrive at their USO gig.

The show is consistently lively, entertaining and just plain fun to watch. It kept us interested throughout. It was full of old-time charm but with a twist of modern humor for all ages. Prior to the show and after intermission, black & white videos play classic moments in 1940s entertainment history - Bob Hope doing live radio with Judy Garland & Peggy Jones, classic cartoons, and more.

The 281 seat Golden Apple Dinner Theater is definitely an entertainment bargain with dinner and a show costing less than $40. If you just want to catch the great show, the cost is only $25.
